MAMA SHAMONE meets LITTLE NAN JO JO!
Recent MySpace Band Of The Week, MAMA SHAMONE are one of the must-see bands of the year. Their wild, sexy, dirty stage show (and then some!) complements their metal disco pop classics in waiting which has been described as have been described in the press as "the kind of thing that Peaches should be making". This band are already stars to those in the know.
A live review noted; “Put Mama Shamone on at any venue and they are likely to take the roof off, this was one of the best live shows I’ve seen in years - certainly one of the best in London. In my opinion these guys are destined for greatness, it felt like I was witnessing history being shaped.
Word is spreading like wildfire and Mama Shamone have recently been recording with producer Robert Harder (Babyshambles, Whitey, Bloc Party, Soho Dolls) and have a a double A side single Over/You Got Me, waiting in the wings.

THE TOTAL DROP : Anna Vincent – vocals, keyboard, guitar, James Vincent – bass, vocals, Sam Soper – guitar, Ivan Misquita-Rice – drums; "Exciting shining examples of future artpop..." (Artrocker) - an art-pop band from New Cross formed 2 years ago. They play regularly around London and did a short self-funded tour of New York City last September.
TTD release music through their own DIY record label Snakes & Ladders (recently BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens’ DIY Label of the Week), their current release is YOUR EXCELLENCY, garnering great feedback... see the video at
http://www.myspace.com/thetotaldrop
"...enough innovation to keep the scene on its toes for another decade, genius!" - Single of the Month (Subba-Cultcha.com) "...new and challenging while still keeping a heart of pop." (R*E*P*E*A*T) "...a spangle-powered scuzz-pop gem of considerable charm!" (TrakMarx.com)"...pure pop without an inch of fat, but effortlessly cool at the same time." (Lobster Quadrille)
Snakes & Ladders Records are on the rise in their own right. "With great certainty one would expect to see much more of these bands and this label in the coming years." (Rough Trade). "|The kind of label we all need. Desperately. Eccentric and willful, they put out material that does not necessarily want to fit in with any current trend." (Artrocker), "...an excellent snapshot of the flourishing underground art-rock scene..." GIITTV "
The Total Drop also present on Resonance FM and the energetic joy of their live performance and their "abundance of catchy hooks and a voice of pure magnetism" is starting, deservedly, to get noticed.
